The EMS industry is nervous. Many EMS companies have had to accept heavy losses in turnover, in some cases over 20%. Only a few EMS companies were able to record slight sales growth. Overall, 2020 will be negative in single digits.

The latest press releases that things picked up significantly in September must also be questioned as to which figures were used as the basis for this statement or whether it was simply shot from the hip. Especially when it comes to market analysis, there are a lot of “fake experts” who are mainly looking for headlines, the more sensational the better.

What is still being produced in the 4th quarter is already available in the order intake, so the situation is manageable. We are currently taking a closer look at this situation by requesting the figures for the 3rd quarter from the EMS manufacturers. As in the past, the analysis will be sent free of charge to all participating EMS companies in Europe.
